| Reservoir Rituals - Tottiford "It's a dream, Tony: you can stub your toe on the prehistory," one of our expert Team enthuses to Tony as they investigate a beautiful hidden valley, high up on Dartmoor. It was beautiful once, now it's a giant mud bath because it has been flooded since 1861 and used as a reservoir. Freshly drained, the Team get a chance to explore previously submerged cairns and stone circles while talking about stratigraphy and geo-phys. What the dig uncovers is well worth the cake and champagne they have to celebrate the programme's 200th excavation. |
